AESLEME and IRSA are awarded with the Solidarity Prize 2007

AESLEME-IRSA have been awarded in the 7th edition of the “Insurance Solidary Awards 2007” for their work on the prevention of traffic accidents through the project “Road Show”, which is organized in all Spain. Once again Liberty Seguros insurance company was the company that honoured our association´s work, an award that was received by Juan Ángel García Reneses, founding member of AESLEME.

The awards took place on the 26th of November, 2007, in the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid, and once again was filled with solidarity, commitment and hope. Organised by INESE, the Reed Business Information Insurance Division, the Insurance Solidary Awards had the economic support of 300,000€, destined to finance the prize-winning projects. The act, presented by Andrés Aberasturi and Francine Gálvez, had over 300 guests, as well as the participation of the Princess of Asturias, Mrs. Letizia Ortiz as honourable president of the committee.

The musical and artistic presentation in the gala was represented by 24 children from Casa de los Chamorrillos, an educational centre of social-educational intervention with minors from the Fundación Secretariado Gitano (Gypsy Secretariat Foundation). They offered a song and dance act coordinated by their professors from the “bulería” and percussion workshop. Furthermore, 18 youths from the Espacio Waslala, delectated the audience with an Arab representation of intercultural instruments of which worth mentioning were the darbuka, djembes, dum dums, a gong and surdos. The closing was in charge of Arturo Canalda González, Defender of Minors for the Community of Madrid.
