People who are in prison for whatever reason, will leave the prison some day and become pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and car drivers, again. They may have forgotten the rules, or ignore changes that happened lately such as the new driving rules, the driving licenses’ penalty points policy, and new road traffic offenses.

We believe that knowledge of risk factors and their consequences may contribute to a secure mobility after they leave prison.

Therefore, we have signed an agreement with the Secretaría General de Instituciones Penitenciarias (i.e., General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions) and this program will be included in the "Universalization of Road Safety", to develop this campaign in all prisons in Spain.

The “Move Safely” campaign was launched in 2013, as a pilot project in the Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid (i.e., Autonomous Community of Madrid). Since 2014 it is unfolding in the 101 prisons that exist in Spain, thanks to a grant that comes from the IRPF (Spain’s personal income tax).

Up to 2020, AESLEME has reached 27.821 covicts in 468 conferences thanks to this campaign.
